Offer Letter

A letter written to make an offer to a company or investor. A company may write to potential investors offering them shares in a company for a specific sum. An investor may offer to purchase a number of shares for a sum. Given the terms of the offer letter, it may be legally binding so care must be taken if further research is required before the offer should be accepted. Typically there will be a number of conditions precedent stating what must happen before the offer becomes valid.
