Investor
Investor is a general term that may be corporate or individual and covers may investment vehicles For example, investors may put money into buy commodities (e.g. gold, silver, corn, etc.), property (e.g. commercial buildings and residential homes), loans (e.g. to friends, companies, gilts, etc.) as well as buying equity (e.g. quoted companies on LSE, AIM, Plus, and unquoted companies).
Investors may put their own money into a company in exchange for equity and/or loan notes. When investors put money into small companies they may provide mentoring, coaching, advice and connections (in which case they are often termed a “Business Angel”).
